These ruins resonated with me as I was overcome with joy and visions of a scene that I will write about. The material gathered hereon this day will be used in my writings and I wouldn’t have found it otherwise. I also played football sorta.

These sculptures sit at Navan fort around the area of historical reenactments. They were a combination of modern art in a historical place. I do not believe they went well together. I am also not certain if all 4 of the animals were indigenous to the area.

Vera’s in charge now!

Vera doesn’t want to disappoint her family. She believes if she does they will abandon her and she will be alone.  She knows they want to keep the hotel in the family, so in order for everyone to have what they wishes vera takes the hotel off of auction. She claims the hotel as her own and changes the name to the O’Toole B&B. She remains the sole owner but has MaryJane manage it in her absence. She comes by to visit every so often and has tea with her family in the hotel that they’ve made significant upgrades to.

You children know nothing of the past.

Fergus Macwell: You children have it easy nowadays. You have your mobile technology in your pockets and that’s all you care about. It rules your life. You seem to know nothing of the hardships that we faced, and all knows they don’t teach it in the schools anymore. Our people were targets. Started way back when with king Henry the eighth. Boy he hated the catholic church because they wouldn’t let him marry his younger prettier mistress. Bless Katherine. So he made it so anyone who practiced the religion were . My great great great great grandfather was a catholic. He had his land taken from him with nothin left to support his family. They made settlement in stone lake. A small traveling village run by the druids. Some of his children grew weak and one even died from starvation. But not his daughter no. She was as tough as an ox. She took on extra chores. Gave most of the food to her siblings, and when she was old enough she set out for work. She spent her time studying both the catholic and Protestant religions. This way if she were questioned on her travels she could hold her own. And hold her own she did. As we are living proof. But it didn’t end here. Queen Elizabeth took the throne, and our ancestors were being ambushed and slaughtered. The great war between the Catholics and the Protestants became violence in the name of whose God was the right God to worship. It was bloody and the Catholics suffered the greatest loss. And even though this island of Ireland here is split in two, we share this past and together we must remember. Are you kids still listening?

One interesting fact

An interesting fact that I learned was that Elizabeth was more ruthless than her father. I had known that she had existed, but I haven’t done much look into her ruling. Elizabeth persecuted catholics if they didn’t convert their religion. Where her father would simply cast them out and give their possessions to others, she killed them.

On the other side

I thought all grass was created equal. Green strands that grow from the ground, collect dew in the morning and gets cut every week. But there’s something different about this gras. It smells and looks and even feels  the same as any grass I ave experienced sure, but it isn’t the same.

To passersby when a rain drop falls it’s the end. It merges with a  puddle, or slides down the blade of grass on which it falls. There’s no distinguishing this drop of rain from those that came before it, and soon enough another has fallen and the first soon forgotten.

This grass treated the rain differently. With every drop of rain the grass  springs to life and bounced it with joy. It begs to be rolled in and its hidden treasures discovered. The wind whispers a soft breeze and each blade dances back in a wave of reply. There are no patches of brown where the grass got tired if being strong. A step doesn’t crush it and the cows don’t phase it. Irish grass grows on.
